How to make a budget watering container for 1-1.5 cubic meters with a tap

As you know, it is advisable to water cultivated plants with heated water, because from cold they grow poorly, get sick, etc. Also, at the dacha, water is often released according to a schedule and in the absence of a stationary metal container, there is nothing to collect it into. An improvised but fairly reliable container made of a polyethylene sleeve will help you get out of the situation. Any adult can cope with such work.

Will need

Materials:

  • plastic pipe;
  • tap and fittings;
  • polyethylene sleeve;
  • worm clamps;
  • racks made of metal or wood;
  • Rabitz;
  • soft wire;
  • a piece of old linoleum, etc.

Tools: a hand drill for excavation work, a bayonet shovel, a household iron, sheets of paper or scraps of fabric, a hand screwdriver, pliers, etc.

The process of making a container for watering plants at the dacha from a polyethylene sleeve

At the selected location, we install 4 metal or wooden posts in the corners of a square in a plan of 75x75 cm for a container made of a polyethylene sleeve 150 cm wide. It is better to make holes for the posts using a hand drill for excavation work. For reliability, inside the racks we deepen the bottom by 3-5 cm.

We stretch the chain-link mesh over the racks and fasten it in several places to the racks with soft wire. It is advisable to put a piece of old linoleum or similar material at the bottom to protect the film from pests.

We solder the bottom of the sleeve through two sheets of thick paper or fabric with a hot iron, first dividing the width of the film into 4 parts.

We leave a hole in the center for passing the pipe, which we insert from the inside. At the end of the pipe remaining inside the future container, we make an elbow so that when installing and filling the container with water, the film does not block the inlet of the pipe.

We wind up the soldered film with a snake and press it to the pipe. For reliability, it can be glued to the pipe, but this is not necessary. We put 2 worm clamps on the assembled bundle and tighten it tightly. We wrap the film after the clamps with tape.

We lay the sleeve inside the mesh and carefully straighten the bottom to avoid any bends in the film. We close the fourth side of the chain-link mesh, screw it in 2-3 places to the stand with soft wire and cover the base with earth.

First pour 40-50 liters of water to spread the film around the bottom. After this, we straighten the sleeve to the required height and fill the container with water. We roll the top of the sleeve and wrap it around the mesh inside the racks.

As the water level in the container increases, the film begins to put pressure on the mesh, which, stretching, slightly takes on a convex shape. To protect the top of the film from tearing, we also cover the chain-link mesh with pieces of linoleum or similar material.

Water from the tank can be connected to an existing irrigation system or simply watered by collecting it in buckets. If you pour water into a container in the morning, then after lunch it will heat up and be doubly useful for plants.
