A method from a Soviet magazine on how to make a frying pan non-stick

Old frying pans without a non-stick coating often cause things to stick. It is impossible to fry pancakes, scrambled eggs, cutlets and a variety of other dishes on them. However, with some simple processing, you can turn an ordinary frying pan into a non-stick one.

What you will need:

  • Soda;
  • Salt;
  • sunflower oil.

Process of frying pan processing

The frying pan must be thoroughly washed using baking soda. After this, it is rinsed and dried with a napkin.

The frying pan is placed on the burner and heated. Immediately pour a couple of tablespoons of salt into it. It needs to be evenly leveled. When the salt warms up, it should be stirred. Keep the frying pan on the fire for 5 minutes. The salt will turn slightly yellow as a result.

Remove the salt and wipe the pan from any residue.

Then put it back on medium heat and pour in sunflower oil. You literally need a teaspoon. The oil is spread over the frying pan.

When a light smoke comes from it, wipe off the residue with napkins. The pan should become dry.

After this, nothing will stick to your old frying pan.This treatment lasts for months, unless you wash the pan in the dishwasher. In the future, if adhesion resumes, repeat the same steps.
