5 Ways to Use Used Flexible Eyeliner
Flexible hoses for faucets and toilets quite often begin to leak, especially if pressure surges are observed in the water supply, so it must be changed periodically. When replacing an old, already damaged hose, you don’t have to throw it away immediately, but before doing so, remove parts useful for the household from it.
Union nut plug
Using a hacksaw, you can cut a union nut from a flexible liner.
It can be used as a plug. To do this, insert a coin of a suitable diameter into the nut, then the sealing ring previously used in it and another coin.
To prevent the plug from letting water through, it must be tightened well so that the sealing ring shrinks.
Adapter fitting made from union nut
Also, a cut-off union nut can be used together with a fitting to transfer from a tap or pipe to a rubber hose. The fitting is inserted into it, then an o-ring is applied on top, preferably a new one made of silicone.
Fishing leash
If the braid of the flexible line is made of stainless steel, which can often be determined by the lack of reaction to a magnet, then it can be unraveled to obtain leads.
A fishing leash made from such wire is very thin, durable and flexible, and therefore fully meets all requirements. It can be used to catch pike and other predatory fish with sharp teeth. From one eyeliner you can make hundreds of such leashes.
Metal brush
You can also cut off a piece of braid and pull out the rubber hose from it. Then one of its edges opens onto the wire until the middle of the trim.
The result is a brush that is placed on a stud and tightened with nuts.
It can be used as a metal brush for a screwdriver or drill. The brush is useful for removing rust, scale, and paint layers. This brush can also be used to clean the inside of tubes and bottles.
Tool handle
The unraveled piece of braid can be used to make a non-slip file handle. To do this, the braid is put on its shank and fixed at the edges with pieces of heat shrink or electrical tape.
In addition to the listed methods of using parts from flexible hoses, you can come up with others. For example, make gaskets from its internal rubber hose or remove fittings from a crimp sleeve to connect tubes.
