How to assemble a simple refrigerator for a distiller

Refrigerators of various designs are used to equip the distiller. The most convenient are flow-through devices that allow efficient condensation of steam into liquid in a small volume. Let's analyze the design of an inexpensive homemade refrigerator, designed for connection to a central water supply network.

Materials:

  • sewer plug 110 mm – 2 pcs.;
  • sewer coupling 110 mm;
  • a section of sewer pipe 110 mm;
  • cable gland IP68 – 2 pcs.;
  • hose fitting 1/2 inch – 2 pcs.;
  • 1/2 inch nut – 2 pcs.;
  • corrugated stainless steel pipe, flared on one side for a nut;
  • silicone sealant;
  • Super glue.

The first stage of assembling the refrigerator is to equip the plugs with fittings and seals. To do this, a pair of holes 35 mm and 20 mm are drilled in both covers. You need to drill so that the distances between the holes and the sides allow you to screw on the nuts.

After installing the fitting and seal, sealant is applied along the contour of the holes on the inside of the plugs. The nuts are screwed on top and tightened tightly.

Next, a corrugation is inserted into one plug through an oil seal with a pre-twisted clamping nut. After this, the nut returns to its place, but is not clamped, and the tube is pulled inward. It is important that the flared side remains on the outside of the plug. It is enough to leave 15 cm of the corrugation open, then tighten the nut, achieving complete tightness of the oil seal.

The long end of the tube is wound around a rolling pin or any cylindrical object to create a compact, neat coil.

Next, the refrigerator body is assembled. To do this, the sewer pipe is inserted all the way into the coupling.

After this, the cover with the coil is pressed into the body.

The second plug is threaded through the seal with the nut removed onto the corrugation, and inserted into the back of the refrigerator. After this, the oil seal nut is tightly tightened.

The resulting design has a weak seal on the plugs, which can be squeezed out under water pressure. To prevent this from happening, you need to fasten the joints between the housing sockets and the plugs with superglue.

Subsequently, the flared edge of the refrigerator corrugation is connected to the steam chamber or directly to the distillation flask. Water from a tap or mixer is supplied through the lower fitting and discharged into the sewer through the upper one. Liquid distillate will drip from the non-flared edge of the corrugation.

    There is a small error in the technical part, as in most cases with homemade refrigerators.
    A coil refrigerator, according to the rules, and common sense, cools the vapors by the coil itself, through which the coolant flows. Condensation occurs on the surface of the coil. And here it's the other way around
