How to unscrew the strainer nut
Often, most people are afraid to unscrew the nut of the oblique strainer. The fact is that such a filter is usually located immediately after the tap on the riser, and this place is very important. Since a mistake made can lead to a flood not only of oneself, but also of the neighbors below. Plus, the line to the filter may be made of plastic pipes, which will fluctuate greatly if the force is applied incorrectly.
In order not to break anything, not to unscrew the filter itself or the riser valve, you need to correctly and competently approach unscrewing this hook.
Unscrew the strainer nut
We close the riser. Open the faucet taps to release the remaining pressure and drain the water. Let's prepare a container, since after unscrewing the water will need to be collected somewhere. It’s a good idea to stock up on rags; anyway, you won’t be able to collect everything into a container.
Let's move on to unscrewing. This must be done with two keys. It is advisable to use adjustable ones, as they will fit very tightly to the surface and will eliminate unnecessary beating and movement of the pipes.
Better yet, use a gas wrench to secure the filter housing. It will help to better keep the filter from turning and swinging.
We rest against ourselves with the keys and pull away from ourselves with an evenly distributed force between the keys. There is no need to be afraid, if you hold the body securely, then nothing bad will happen.
The filter nut has come loose.
Next, take out the mesh and wash it. Rinse under running water, with slight pressure. You can use an unnecessary toothbrush.
After cleaning the mesh, we assemble it: install the mesh in the cap nut and insert it into the filter. But before this, it is recommended to check the condition of the fluoroplastic gasket on the lid. If it is already quite compressed, it needs to be replaced with the same one or for sealing, use plumbing flax, fum tape, or pipe winding.
After assembly, we apply pressure by smoothly turning the riser tap. We wipe everything dry.
And finally, we go through the joints with a paper napkin to make sure that there are no leaks anywhere.
As you can see, there is nothing secret or hidden in this method, just the transfer of human experience.
I would be grateful if you share your solutions in the comments, although I highly doubt that there is an easier or better way.
