Magnetic spice set

This craft will especially appeal to those who like to cook frequently and in a variety of ways. It will maximize convenience and save time spent searching for the right container of seasonings. Thanks to this simple modification, you will have all the spices at arm's length, which is very convenient.
The idea is this: we will make a metal board above the table, and glue magnets to the spice jars. Then all the jars will be magnetized to the board.

And now, to add the desired seasoning to a dish, you just need to stretch out your hand and take what you need. Open, add, close and hang in place.

Needed for magnetic board

  • A steel sheet painted with paint, silver for example.
  • Glass spice jar, small size (you can get a whole bunch of baby food).
  • Glue, ideally epoxy based, as it is very reliable. But I took a regular one, capable of gluing metal and glass.
  • Fasteners for attaching a metal sheet to an apron above your table.
  • Neodymium magnets.

Attaching the spice board

The apron over my table is made of pressed cardboard. To attach a steel sheet to it, I drilled holes in it and screwed the sheet in using a special fastener. Holes were also pre-drilled in the steel board.

As soon as the board is ready for use, we move on to the jars. The surface to which we will glue must be degreased. Next, we coat the jar with glue and glue a pair of neodymium magnets. Preferably in the center.

We wait until the glue dries completely.
Well, then, if desired, we sign what is in this or that jar.

It is very convenient that the jars are glass and transparent. Firstly, you can see how much seasoning is left, and secondly, when using it, you don’t have to read the name, but by its appearance you can understand what kind of ingredient is inside.
Make your life more convenient! Thanks for reading and see you next time!

It's too bad that the jars are transparent. Many spices do not like sunlight and begin to deteriorate. The idea is good, but the jars need to be made opaque, then it will work as it should.
