Spice jars

If your spices are stored in the open bags you bought them in, then be prepared for the flavors to mix and then dissipate. It is better to store any spices in opaque, tightly closed containers. In order not to spend money on purchasing special sets, you can make jars for storing spices with your own hands. Today you will learn how to turn glass baby food containers into beautiful containers for seasonings and herbs.

To work you need to collect:

  • 4 80 g baby food jars;
  • acrylic primer;
  • brush;
  • napkin for decoupage;
  • PVA glue;
  • eggshells;
  • glossy varnish;
  • scissors;
  • a piece of foam rubber;
  • green and yellow gouache.

Making spice jars

Prepare the jars: wash, remove the label, dry. It is best to take the smallest ones, the volume of which does not exceed 100 g.

To create texture on the surface, glue pieces of eggshell around the circle of each jar. It is securely fixed to the glass with PVA glue.

A narrow strip needs to be glued to the rim of the lids in the same way.

Now mix yellow and green gouache by adding a drop of PVA glue.

Using the resulting paint, write the names of the spices on the lids, using a very thin brush.

    In my opinion, unpainted glued pieces of brown shell look more impressive.

    Everything in the photographs is simply wonderful. Did the author think that any paint has a smell? Spices will very quickly absorb this “aroma” and become unsuitable for their intended purpose.
    There is only one option, to somehow cover the jars with dark paper or something similar. Otherwise the whole idea loses its meaning.
