How to marinate mackerel for grilling so that it turns out juicy
Grilled mackerel is a great idea for a picnic. Kebabs are a common thing and you won’t surprise anyone with meat on the grill. But if you fry fish, you can surprise both yourself and your guests.
Mackerel is well suited for salting. Many people refuse to buy it for frying, because... it turns out dry. But there are secrets that will help you make this fish tasty and juicy.
Ingredients
In order for the grilled mackerel to be juicy, we will not cut it into pieces. Let's leave it whole, just gut it and marinate it.
For the marinade you will need garlic and mayonnaise. Nothing extra. Through trial and error, I found my recipe and now it is our family’s favorite fish marinade.
We take mackerel at the rate of 1 fish per person. You should not defrost it completely, as it becomes soft and difficult to process.
Marinate mackerel for grilling
We clean the slightly thawed mackerel from the entrails, fins, tail and head. We wash and remove the films from the inside.
Peel the garlic and grate it on a fine grater. Place garlic and mayonnaise on the mackerel. Salt. Coat the fish inside and out.
Let the fish marinate for a while, at least half an hour. The mackerel is marinated. Fry on the grill until golden brown. The fish cooks quickly.
The mackerel turned out juicy, aromatic and appetizing.
