How to bake mackerel in the oven
Wondering what to cook for dinner? Here's my easy-to-make oven-baked mackerel recipe. Your family will definitely love this dish. Eating fish is very good for your health.
Mackerel is very common and affordable, and the price is acceptable for everyone. Usually sold frozen. Its big advantage is that it cooks very quickly, has very few bones, and tastes very good.
Bake mackerel in the oven
I take a small fish, if it is frozen, let it sit a little, salt, foil.
I will cook without vegetables and additional spices, because the fish itself is quite tasty. I cut off the head and fins, rip open the belly, and remove all the giblets.
I clean the carcass from the entrails. I rinse under cold running tap water.
I let the excess water drain and place the fish on foil.
I rub the carcass with salt, let it soak a little, about half an hour.
Before baking, I add a little frozen dill. You can add your favorite seasonings, vegetables to your taste, mayonnaise, etc.
I wrap the fish in foil and press the edges tightly.Mackerel itself is a fairly oily fish and therefore it is not necessary to add oil for frying.
Place in a preheated oven at 180-200 degrees for about 20-30 minutes.
After finishing cooking, I let the fish sit for a while and soak. Serve with mashed potatoes.
Total cooking time takes approximately 2 hours. The result is a very satisfying, nutritious and tasty dinner.
If desired, you can add your favorite seasonings to highlight or enhance the taste of the fish. Although I like it that way.
When cooked in foil, mackerel does not lose excess moisture and remains very juicy and aromatic. That is why I often use this particular recipe, neglecting regular frying or baking.
