Sachet with lemon balm for a baby's crib

A sachet is a small bag filled with a fragrance to give things a pleasant smell or create a certain atmosphere. Now it is also an interesting decorative item that will take a modest place on the handle of a chest of drawers or a bookshelf.
I suggest making a sachet filled with dried herbs and lemon balm flowers for a baby crib. Melissa has long been known for its calming properties, so a sachet in the form of a pillow will definitely help your baby fall asleep quickly.

1. So, to make a sachet you will need natural fabric, in this case linen, satin ribbon (bias tape), lace, thread, scissors, needle, buttons.

2. To fill the sachet, the lemon balm herb must be thoroughly crushed, and to enhance its aroma, you can use a few drops of aromatic oil.

3. Mark two squares measuring 12x12 cm on the fabric.

4. Cut it out.

5. Apply lace to the front side of one of the squares, pin it and sew it with a zigzag machine stitch.

6. Next, we sew both squares to each other, leaving one side open for filling with lemon balm.

7. We process the edges of the product with bias tape.

8. This is how the open bag should look.

9. Carefully fill it with grass, compact it and give it the appearance of a “stuffed” pillow.

10, 11. The final step is to process the edge of the bag with bias tape. You can decorate it with lace. Sew a large beautiful button to the center of the pad and use it to tighten both sides of the product.

Machine stitches were used to make the sachet; if you don’t have a sewing machine at home, this product can be made by hand. For this, the edges of the pad do not need to be trimmed with braid. You can make them in the form of a fringe by extending several longitudinal threads on each side. You can connect the sides of the product using a neat hand stitch; this can also be done with the decor.
I would like to say that for sachets you need to use only natural fabric, cotton or linen. Natural materials absorb odors well and retain them for a long time. The “shelf life” of the sachet is approximately 3-4 months, but to extend it, you can occasionally drip a few drops of essential oil onto the back side.
As you can see, there are no tricks for making this useful thing, but it can be made from scrap materials. Let this tiny fragrant bag fill your home with peace and give your little daughter or son another good night.

For a long time I didn’t believe in the effect of sachets with herbs, until I came across this article and decided to sew this “device” to improve my son’s sleep. And in fact, there is nothing difficult to sew a bag (all the work took me 15 minutes at most) and fill his lemon balm! The effect exceeded all expectations - my son began to fall asleep faster and sleep much longer. Now I recommend this sachet to everyone))
