First, I had to clean it of the remaining product that was in it (honey) and wash it from the inside (it doesn’t look very good in the photo). After that, I used an angle grinder to make a cutout in it.
Food containers are much more pleasant to work with. Imagine a grill in a barrel that was used for oil or fuel.

I needed to make a base, and all I had around me were a few old chain-link fencing posts that I never got around to throwing out, and pieces of used plywood.
I cut the columns as follows: 2 along the length of the barrel and 4 for the legs. I wanted my grill to take up less space, so placing the barrel on top of the rack was the best option. Two columns are provided to hold the barrel and 4 legs are attached to them through holes using button head bolts. To make the legs more secure, I made a tie out of plywood. Now you can place the barrel on top so it stands tall and proud.

The finishing touches were adding a handle (from a simple round handle from the hardware store), vents, and a temperature meter. I also decided to give the barrel a coat of high temperature paint. In addition to allowing you to choose the color, the paint prevents metal corrosion. The final touch was actually using the barbecue grill.
