How to power a 1.5 V quartz watch mechanism from a 220 V network

You can make a simple power supply for a quartz watch mechanism from just a few parts. The direct conversion source is easy to manufacture and is wall-mounted. They are used as zener diodes LEDs.

You will need the following parts

How to connect a quartz watch to the network

We take a diode bridge. We solder a resistor and a film capacitor to the AC input. We solder an electrolytic capacitor to the bridge output according to polarity.

Then, parallel to the output, solder 2 series-connected LED.

The mains voltage is connected to a resistor and a capacitor. The output for powering the clock is taken from the negative terminal of the electrolytic capacitor and the middle connection point LEDs.

We connect the assembly to the network and the clock.

As you can see, the mechanism works great.

Please note that the circuit does not have galvanic voltage isolation, which means that during operation the entire clock mechanism is energized, and therefore cannot be touched. This refers to the internal part.

There is no galvanic isolation. We take any network adapter from a dead phone, power it through a resistor (we calculate the resistance) Light-emitting diode. Parallel to the LED clock. I have 4 LED each through its own resistor. They stand in place of the numbers 12, 3, 6, 9. One powered the clock. The dial is homemade from an old painted vinyl record. works like clockwork. They only stop when the light is turned off.
