How to strengthen weak points of furniture panel products
Many people are faced with the problem of furniture board products breaking in places where its width was small. When loaded, they tear along the fibers or along the glue. An example would be cut-out handles or thin glued strips. However, this is not a reason to refuse to use a shield when making them. Such places simply need to be strengthened.

- A circular saw;
- solid wooden board or batten;
- wood glue;
- hacksaw;
- emery machine.
The process of strengthening weak points of laminated wood products
Glued products have little stability when exposed to bending, but solid wood has great elasticity. This makes it possible to make a lamella out of it, with the help of which it is possible to reinforce weak points prone to fracture.
To do this, a groove is cut from the end of the glued product with a circular saw. Then, to suit its size, a lamella is cut out from a single piece of any lumber in the longitudinal direction.
The groove is lubricated with wood glue, and the lamella is hammered into it.
After gluing, its protrusions are cut off with a hacksaw and ground off using sandpaper.
These inserts can be used to strengthen anything, even corner elements made from glued panels. The main thing is that the fibers of the lamella are located perpendicular to the fibers in the shield.
