How to make a berry harvester
Blueberries and lingonberries can be collected very quickly if you tear them not with your hands, but using a special food processor and comb. Similar devices are sold, but they are made of hard steel, so they crush the berries. The proposed homemade device does not damage them at all, so they are stored longer and do not leak juice.
Materials:
- Plywood;
- bamboo skewers;
- wood glue.
The process of making a berry harvester
From thin plywood it is necessary to cut out a disk and a ring with a diameter of 70-80 mm.
They are folded together and drilled in a circle with a thin drill, equal in thickness to a bamboo skewer. The distance between the holes should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the ripe berry.
The workpieces are polished after drilling. Then skewers are glued into them. Moreover, the ring is not located on the edge, but so that the teeth extend beyond it by 5 cm.
The excess length of the skewers is cut off from below.
After the glue sets with this glass, you can very quickly pick the berries, grabbing them with a comb.
With this device you can pick much more than with your hands.In the future, to remove the leaves and fragments of branches collected along with the berries, just fill everything with water and the debris will float up.
