How to make a reliable wire hose clamp without a clamp

The hose connected to the tube or fitting must be tightened with a clamp so that it does not break under pressure. It can be used as a piece of wire, which just needs to be tightened correctly. It will hold even the best worm or spring clamp.

What you will need:

  • Knitting wire;
  • pliers.

The process of making a wire clamp

You need to prepare a piece of wire and fold it in half. In this form, it should be significantly longer than the circumference of the hose. When folded, its edges should intersect to form a loop.

The workpiece is applied to the hose, and its edges are twisted with pliers. 3-4 full turns are enough.

Then you need to tighten the loop in the same way. This tightening of the loop will add tension force, which cannot be achieved the first time with a regular twist.

Here you need to be guided by the tightening force so as not to crush the fitting under the hose or break the wire. It turns out to be a very powerful clamp, costing a couple of kopecks.
