How to make a machine for bending different clamps

If you constantly need steel clamps in large quantities, then make this machine. With its help you can bend them out of the strip. This is much more profitable, and the quality of homemade clamps is higher than that of thin store-bought clamps.

Materials:

Next you need to machine the shaft for the large bearing. In the center, its diameter and height are adjusted to the inner race of the bearing. At the top the diameter is 19.8 mm, and at the bottom 10-15 mm.

Next you need to make a fork holder for the roller. To do this, 2 strip sections are welded together, one of which is bent so that 3 small bearings can be placed between them.

Next you need to weld the handle of their thick strip to the large bearing.

The bearing with the handle is installed on the sole shaft. The roller holder is placed on top, and markings are made along the cut.Holes in the handle are drilled along it, and threads are cut into them.

One corner is cut off at the sole and a spacer with two welded nuts is welded diagonally. A bolt is screwed into them, which will serve as a stop for the workpieces.

The sole itself is drilled and screwed to the tabletop. A bearing with a handle and a holder with a roller are installed on it.

Next, you need to machine bushings for the shaft with an outer diameter of 30 mm and 40 mm. By changing them, you can make clamps of different sizes.

For these dimensions of the shaft and bushings, strip blanks with a length of 17, 14, 11 mm are needed. Marks are made on them along the edges for bending the eyes of the clamps.

To bend the clamp, you need to tighten the strip with a bolt in front of the eye mark. Then both edges are bent alternately.

The holes on the eyes can be drilled later or at the stage of marking the stripes.
