How to wash jeans so that they retain their color after washing?
My mother-in-law told me this secret after I complained that my jeans were fading after washing. She offered me an almost free product to preserve color not only on denim, but also on other things that lose their color when washed.
Will need
All you need for this simple recipe is regular table salt.
What should be done?
1. I pour water into a basin and add 200 grams of salt.
2. I put jeans in the solution overnight or for 12 hours.
3. Next, I wash it in the washing machine on a delicate cycle.
4. It is better to choose gentle detergents, for example, liquid for washing colored fabrics.
Another very important point. If you smooth out your wet jeans with your hands after washing, you most likely won't have to iron them. Oh, this is also important for color. When heating, the iron, if you have noticed, “eats” the color of things.
This is interesting! You can also use this method of soaking in salt for new jeans before the first wash.
There is a simpler option - add salt directly to the machine compartment at the same time as the detergent before washing.
