How to give a second life to soap debris
I don't like throwing away things that can still be useful. If possible, I process it and use it further.
This happens with thinning pieces of soap. A thin plate is not very practical and is usually thrown into the trash. But many remnants are transformed into a full-fledged bar of soap.
Talk less, work more!
1. The pieces must be chopped. Either finely chop or grind. The second option is preferable, because the soap will melt faster. But my nails constantly get hurt when grating, so I use a knife to control it.
2. Pour into the prepared container. For this purpose I use a mayonnaise bucket. In order to make it convenient to work with it, I thread a sushi stick into the holes made in advance.
3. In a saucepan with a diameter slightly larger than a bucket, I take water and bring it to a boil. I lower the bucket into boiling water. This method is called a water bath. The composition is not directly boiled, but is transformed under the influence of temperature.
4. During the cooking process, it is necessary to stir the composition. When all the pieces are melted and the structure is homogeneous, the bucket can be removed. To get a scrubbing effect, I add a little ground coffee, about half a teaspoon. For aroma I add a few drops of essential oil. I love sage. I mix and pour into the mold. Any small container is perfect for this purpose. In my case, a soap dish.
5. Leave until the composition hardens. Remove from the mold. If difficulties arise, I pour hot water into a bowl and lower the soap dish. The soap melts slightly and slides out easily.
