You will forget about flies if you make this flytrap from a PET bottle in 5 minutes
If there are a lot of flies in the room where animals are kept, their number can be significantly reduced by placing homemade flytraps. You can make one such trap in 1-2 minutes, and it can work almost forever.
What you will need:
- plastic bottle or carboy;
- scissors or sharp knife;
- sweet fruit juice, jam or sugar.
The process of making a flycatcher
From a PET bottle, or better yet, from a bottle, the neck is cut off closer to the center. Then it is turned over and inserted with the filler hole without a lid down to the bottom. The neck should not reach the bottom a couple of centimeters. After this, a few milliliters of sweet juice, jam, honey or sugar are poured into the trap.
3-4 such traps are made at once and placed around the perimeter of the room. Flies that fly into the bait will not be able to get back out, so they will remain inside. In a week, you can catch a couple of hundred flies with a bottle trap, which die without food and water.Collected insects can be thrown away or fed to birds.
Such a trap can also be used in a residential area, but it is noisy due to the hum of the wings of flies inside, which interferes with sleep. If you empty it every day, then this drawback is not a problem.
