How to make a permanent trimmer guard

The plastic protective shield on lawn mowers is extremely unreliable. It is often broken into fragments by stones flying out from under the knife. If the area has a lot of gravel hidden in the grass, then there is no point in installing a new plastic shield of the same type. More reliable impact-resistant protection is needed.

The process of making a protective shield

A new, impact-resistant safety shield can be cut from the bottom of a dishwasher sink or the tub of an old top-loading washing machine. Since they are metal, and made of stainless steel, such protection will not fail and will last much longer than even the brush cutter itself.


The homemade protection is attached to the bar of the lawn mower in the same way as a standard shield. The same holes are made in it, and it is screwed to the existing aluminum or plastic mount with the same screws.


Since the homemade shield will be slightly wider than the standard one, this will make it possible to adjust a larger line reach on the lawn mower.If its engine power is sufficient, it will allow you to mow faster due to increased coverage.
