How to deliciously bake a whole pike in the oven
Whole pike baked in the oven completely preserves the tenderness and juiciness of the meat. This beautiful dish will take pride of place at a regular or festive feast. This requires a minimum of ingredients:
- large pike - 1 carcass.
- sour cream or mayonnaise - 100-120 g.
- table salt - 3 pinches.
- for decoration - lemon and herbs.
Preparing the recipe: whole pike in the oven
1. Clean the pike and gut it. We tear out the gills and wash the carcass well on all sides. We remove the black film from the inner wall of the abdomen.
2. Prepare the marinade: put mayonnaise or sour cream in a shallow cup, add chopped herbs and salt to your taste.
3. Mix the sauce thoroughly and spread on the pike on all sides. First we make several transverse cuts on the carcass. Line a baking sheet with a baking napkin and place the fish in a semicircle.
4. Place in the oven to bake for one hour. We set the temperature to 160 degrees.Remove the finished pike and let it cool slightly.
5. Place it carefully on a large plate so that it does not fall apart and keeps its shape.
6. Decorate the fish with lemon slices and herbs. Lemon juice will saturate the pieces of meat and give them a special piquancy. In this form we place it on the table.
The result is not only a fragrant and beautiful dish, but also a very appetizing, satisfying and healthy meal.
