Backlight for CD-ROM

HI ALL!!!

I want to share with you how I made the backlight CD-ROMA. What we need: second glue, soldering accessories, wires, LEDs.

LEDs I cut it out from the backlight of the mobile phone, that is, its keyboard.

The first step is to install LEDs into the holes in the tray like I did. fill it with glue and bring the wires out from them to the back of the tray.

At the ends of these wires, thin conductive plates (thin copper plate) are soldered, these plates (contact) are glued to the tray, as in the photo.

At the second stage, you need to glue the spring-loaded contacts to the CD-ROMA case (under no circumstances should they be connected to metal, otherwise it will short out!) We take the wires from them out of the CD-ROMA itself. They connect to 5 and 12 volts on the computer chip (shown in the photo).

That seems to be all, if you don’t understand anything, call me on Skype serg41836

THANKS TO ALL!!!

You can also not take the drive out of the case and solder it to the board, it’s the same red +5 yellow +12, but it turned out so cool, you can also make it with the old one and use it as a stand for a mug smile

    An interesting but dubious decoration.
To do this, you need to completely remove and disassemble the CD-rom. And even with crooked hands, the chance of physically breaking the drive is very high. It is better not to make changes to moving parts. unless it's a pity...
About food LEDs Didn't understand. 12 and 5 volts is not a lot? Do you connect to both 12 and 5 Volts at once? This is nonsense. How do you set the current? Standard Light-emitting diode lights up already at 2.2-2.5 Volts and a current of 20 mA, which must be set with a resistor
