Flower made from ribbon remnants

Every needlewoman faces a problem: there are a few centimeters of ribbon left, but it’s a pity to throw it away. But they also have uses. Even from small remnants of ribbons you can make a beautiful hairpin with a flower.
To create such a flower you will need:
- squares of satin ribbons in five different shades of blue, with sides of 5 cm.
- scissors.
- light blue cabochon.
- lighter.
- “click-clack” hairpin.
- stamens with blue heads.
- green satin ribbon 25 mm wide.

Sequence of work.
First you need to put in front of you all 5 prepared squares of different shades of blue.

From each you need to make a separate petal. First, take one square and simply bend it diagonally.

The sections of the resulting triangular part must be assembled into folds, squeezing them with your fingers.

The edges of the part turn out to be slightly curved, so you need to cut them off with scissors, leveling the cut.

Then use a lighter to strongly scorch the edges of the folds of the tape so that they are soldered together and retain their shape.

The result is a rounded petal for the future flower, the remaining 4 squares need to be subjected to similar processing.

Multi-colored blanks are made. Now you need to make the leaves. For this you need green tape. You will need 2 pieces of 4 cm each.

The width of the segment must be bent in half.

The edge at the top needs to be cut at a slight angle.

The inclined cut should be immediately melted with fire and immediately squeeze the seam with your fingers so that the two layers of tape are fastened together.

The result is a simple leaf, the second one is done in the same way.

Now it’s the turn of the blue stamens. They need to be glued together in twos.

The connected stamens must be glued in the center of the leaves, but so that they do not protrude too much beyond the edge of the green tape.

Now you should make a flower from the prepared multi-colored petals by connecting them into a circle.

Two leaves should be glued to the reverse side of the rainbow flower, placing them at a short distance.

You need to attach the edge of a hairpin to the underside of the flower.

All that remains is to attach the light blue cabochon in the center of the flower.

Class! I'll try to make these hairpins for my daughter. In general, I really love such original jewelry - after all, no one else will have such hairpins. Thank you !
