Beaded geranium

Beading As an art, it has a long history, and the first experiments with wire and things resembling beads have appeared since Antiquity. Many needlewomen, when they see beadwork, look at them with admiration and at the same time with sadness, because not everyone can weave something like that - the beading technique can be very complex. A beautiful bouquet of bright red geraniums is very similar to real, living flowers that will remain in magnificent bloom for many years.

Beaded geranium

The manufacturing technique is very simple and anyone can do it, you just need to have the following materials:
-Wicker vase;
-Small red beads;
-Thin wire;
-Thick wire;
-Green floss;
-Glass balls.

materials for geraniums

Cut a piece of thin wire 20-30 cm long and start stringing 14 beads on it.

You have the first loop, which needs to be fixed by twisting the ends of the wire together.

Now, from one end of the wire, start stringing a second loop, which will consist of 8 beads.

start threading the second loop

Secure the beads. The second loop is smaller than the first, so it must be placed on top of the large loop.

Fix the beads

Using this analogy, perform 3 more double loops.In total you should have 4 large loops and 4 small ones.

One branch of geranium will consist of 14 flowers, so weave the remaining 13 copies according to the same pattern. The length of the wire may not be important: some ends can be very long, while others can be very short.

Now start wrapping the stem of the flower with green floss. This way the threads will disguise the copper wire and give the flowers a lively look.

wrap the leg

Do this procedure with the remaining flowers and collect them together. Start forming the bouquet. Attach a thick wire stem to thin flower stems. This can be done using threads or thin wire.

The final natural look of the geranium sprig will be given by green threads, which must be wrapped in a dense layer around the entire stem.

Any vase will not hold the weight of a beaded bouquet without additional filling for the bottom. Place the glass beads in the vase. If you don't have any, you can use any small heavy objects.

glass beads in a vase

Make the geranium flower on a long stem so that it completely touches the bottom of the vase.

Beaded geranium

Make four more flowers. If the vase is small, there may be only 3 geranium branches, and if its neck is wide enough, increase their number to seven. The main thing is your desire and patience.

Place your masterpiece in the most visible place. As an addition, you can attach a beautiful butterfly made of beads or other material to one of the flowers. It is necessary to take care of such bouquets at least once a month so that the beads do not become a dust collector. To prevent the beads from losing their original shine, try to limit the ingress of moisture. You can remove dust using an ordinary painting brush.
