Bavarian knitted hot pad

Have you heard anything about Bavarian knitting? Be sure to look online at what you can do with it, you will find so many beautiful things! Today I want to show you a quick and easy way to create an original hot pot using the Bavarian knitting technique. Nothing complicated, honestly! The manufacturing process is very interesting and you don’t want to stop. Personally, after this master class, I knitted several more coasters, I wanted to knit with this knitting so much. The most pleasant thing is how the canvas changes during the work; it is this constant transformation that is addictive. Let `s start!?

Materials needed for knitting a stand:
  • Threads of three different or similar colors. The main thing is that the threads are the same thickness; what color you choose is a matter of taste.
  • Scissors.
  • Matching crochet hook.

for knitting stands

We make an Amigurumi loop and tie it with eight single crochets. Next, we knit three lifting chain stitches and four double crochets, two double crochets in each bottom single crochet, and knit them together. It’s easy to knit several double crochets together: we knit the unfinished stitches, all the top loops of the stitches should remain on the hook, then we simply knit all these loops into one. It turns out like this “petal”.

Making an Amigurumi loop

We close the petal with a half-column.

This is how we knit the entire row. You should now have four “petals”. Now we form circles from the “petals”. In the final stitch of the “petal” we knit ten double crochets. It should look like a circle. So we knit this entire row so that we get four identical circles. At the end, you can cut the thread and weave it behind the posts.

We count three columns and tie a new thread into the fourth. We knit three lifting chain stitches and four unfinished double crochets, knit them with a single loop, as we first did the “petals”.

Counting down three columns

In the corner part of the circles we knit three air lifting loops and nine double crochets, connecting them with a single loop. In this way we knit the entire row to the end.

Forming circles. We tie the corner “petals”, in which there are five double crochets, with ten double crochets into a single “petal” column. “Petals” consisting of ten double crochets are tied with seven double crochets and so on until the end of the row. Cut the thread.

Forming circles

We tie the next color and in the same way as with the previous one, we tie the lower circles. We knit petals from five and ten double crochets.

Bind the next color

We form new circles and finish knitting.

geometric cup stand

It turns out to be such a beautiful, geometric stand for a cup. Bavarian knitting allows you to create a beautiful pattern that resembles a mosaic or a kaleidoscope. This stand will be a wonderful decoration for a festive table or will give a piece of pleasant memory and a good mood on an ordinary weekday. Experiment with color and make your interior brighter and more elegant.
