Testing a home-grown preparation for glass lids

Sometimes it’s impossible to clean glass lids until they shine. Nasty dirt manages to get under the very rim so that at first it is difficult to notice, then it is not easy to get rid of it. In addition, you don’t want to use products that are oversaturated with chemicals.

For such a case, I have prepared, as it seems to me, a completely harmless recipe, which I hasten to share. By the way, some are neat and correct it in their own way; they cannot do without shop assistants. For example, diluted with dishwashing liquid.

Ingredients:

  • two teaspoons of soda;
  • three liters of water;
  • teaspoon dry mustard.

How and what to do to clean glass lids

I dilute both products in boiling water.

Mix thoroughly. I pour part of the solution into one dirty part.

I immerse the second one in its remains.

I keep both little ones in the mustard-soda mixture for at least 15 minutes. You can then see a positive result almost immediately.

To secure it, I wipe (just in case) with a damp sponge the places where fatty deposits may remain before washing the lids and drying them with disposable towels.
