Self-tightening towing knot, untied in one motion
It’s good when the car has a tow rope equipped with special devices already installed at the ends: a carabiner, a hook, or just a loop. But there are people who do not carry a tow rope with them. If towing is necessary, they have to use, sometimes, a hard-to-find rope. They tie it to the eyelet with different knots, and then they suffer, trying to stretch the tightened knot with a screwdriver. It becomes very small after towing a car. Nothing can untie him. You have to cut it.
How to tie a simple and reliable towing knot
Now we will learn one of the options for how to tie yourself so as not to cut your rope later. For clarity, we took it brighter and thicker. Let's start knitting. Leave a free end of about 50 centimeters. We thread it through the eyelet from below. We draw it around the tow rope and insert it into the eye again, but this time from above.
We see that our rope has wrapped around the eyelet twice. At this point we got a strong connection. It will not fray or break. Now we make a loop at the short end and insert it between the eyelet and the cable. We pull the knot to the eye and tighten it. All.
This knot is self-tightening, but no matter how tightly it is tightened, it is always very easy to untie it by pulling on the short end of the rope.
A small note. To tow a car, use a cable or rope 4-6 meters long. A shorter tow line will create a risk of collision between the towing vehicle and the towed vehicle. And a longer one means there is a risk of hitting the cable. In addition, the long tugboat is quite springy.
The knot is so simple that there is no need to remember how to tie it. You just need to take a photo of it once and save it in your phone's memory. You will always have a hint with you.
