Crispy potato chips with onions without frying or oil

Modern youth, and older people too, have long been accustomed to chips - a crispy, light snack with a unique salty taste and bright aroma. Is it possible to make them at home to know for sure that they contain only healthy products and no chemical additives? We offer you a simple and affordable recipe for potato chips that will not leave anyone indifferent. Their advantage is that they do not need to be fried by adding fatty oil, so we will cook the chips in the oven.

The following ingredients will be required:

  • potatoes – 200 gr.;
  • onion – 100 gr.;
  • water – 50 g;
  • corn starch – 50 g;
  • baking powder – 2 gr.
  • salt – 0.5-1 tsp.

How to cook chips without frying and without oil

Peel the potatoes. Cut into small pieces.

Boil until tender for 20-25 minutes.

Place in a colander or sieve and let the water drain. We cut the onion and send it together with the finished potatoes to the processor. You can also grind products with an immersion blender.

Add 50 gr. water and beat everything until smooth. Place in a separate bowl, mix with starch and baking powder, and add salt. Mix carefully so that there are no lumps.If the mixture turns out to be too liquid, you can add a little more starch.

Pour the mixture into a piping bag. Place baking paper or parchment on a baking sheet. Squeeze out small balls of potato mixture and cover with the same sheet of paper. Using a regular mug, press down the balls, turning them into flat circles.

And place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 140 degrees for 12 minutes. Or bake in the oven at 110 degrees, but a little longer - 30 minutes.

We take out the baking sheet, remove the top sheet of parchment and, using a knife, carefully separate the chips from the bottom base.

Homemade onion-potato crispy chips are ready. They are thin, tender and really tasty. And they are no different from store-bought ones, except that they are only more useful, and you know exactly their composition. And also, I know the basis of this recipe, you can add various other flavors to the chips using seasonings, dried herbs, vegetables and other ingredients.
