How to make a power bank for a smartphone from batteries from old mobile phones

Mobile phones become obsolete very quickly and are replaced by newer models. The old device, of course, can still serve, but it is no longer relevant. Over time, most people accumulate truly entire deposits of such devices. Of course, you can give them a second life. Let’s take, for example, their rechargeable batteries and make a good Power bank from which you can charge a brand new smartphone.

You will need the following parts

How to make a power bank from old mobile phone batteries

We will use 3 batteries of the same capacity. But their number may be different, and the capacity may be different. Therefore, take everything that is available, the main thing is that the voltage matches - 3.7 V. The capacity of different batteries is eventually added up and you get the total capacity of the power bank.

Stale batteries may be faulty. We check the voltage on each of them. It must be above 3 Volts, otherwise the battery will not charge.

We take a plastic case and cut holes in it for USB ports and a charging module button.

We sand off all burrs and irregularities with a needle file.

We install the module into the crocus and secure it with hot glue.

Next, using double-sided tape, we glue the batteries into a single battery.

Let's connect all three elements in parallel.

We glue the resulting battery into the case and solder the wires to the module.

Press the test button on the module and check the operation.

Close the lid and secure it with self-tapping screws.

Just in case, let's check the output voltage from the converter.

It outputs 5 Volts, everything works fine.

We connect the smartphone and charge it.

It’s so simple and easy to give a second life to seemingly hopeless and outdated devices.
