How to make a lamp from CD discs controlled by a smartphone
Aliexpress sells the already well-known ESP8266 microcontroller, which is used in the manufacture of smart home systems. Based on it, you can assemble a very cool night light from CDs, controlled through a mobile application. This is a cool and high-tech item for the home.
Materials:
- disks;
- M6 stud;
- board;
- sewer plug 50 mm;
- touch button;

Lamp manufacturing process
The body of the lamp will consist of discs stacked on top of each other to a height of 16 cm. In order for light from the flexible matrix embedded inside to pass through them, you need to expand their internal hole to 50 mm, removing the plastic transparent part. To finish all the disks evenly, you need to mill out a plywood holder for them. It is very convenient to perform work on CNC, but it can also be done with other tools. Immediately, 4 holes for the studs are drilled in the disks.
2 plugs for the lamp are cut out of wood, which will cover the bottom and upper front part of the disks.You also need to prepare 4 threaded rods to connect the parts of the lamp.
Wooden linings and discs are tightened with pins.
Then you need to cut the plug for the sewer pipe, drill it in the center for the wire, and insert it into the bottom of the lamp.
Next you can do the electronic stuffing. According to the proposed scheme, it is necessary to connect a flexible light module, a touch button, a microcontroller and a power supply. To control the lamp, the proposed application is downloaded to the phone.
Next, the module is rolled into a tube and placed in the cavity of the lamp. The button is installed on the cover in a drilled cavity.
The lamp is flashed before use. Flash with different effects here - , you can find any one to suit your taste, and instructions on how to do it on this particular equipment.
Using the GyverLamp application for Android or GyLamp for iOS, you can control the lighting modes of the module on addressable LEDs. It turns out very beautiful.
