Water won't drain in the bathroom? How to clean a siphon
Hair accumulates in the bathroom siphon. If they are long, then it is impossible to push them further along the pipe with a plunger. Some of them can be pulled out through the drain grate with a hook, which solves the problem for a while. If hair accumulates in the depths of the water seal, then you can only get it out by disassembling the siphon.
What you will need:
- rag;
- bucket or basin.
Siphon cleaning process
You need to get to the siphon and place a large rag under it. It will collect smudges during disassembly.
Then you need to unscrew the nut on the outlet pipe under the bathtub and disconnect the siphon.
You need to lift it so that the water can run away from it. Next, the nut on the corrugated pipe fastening is loosened to separate the siphon. It is important not to lose the rubber gaskets that seal the connection.
Also, for cleaning, the corrugated pipe is removed from the socket.
The contents of the siphon and pipe are shaken out into the toilet. Finally, it can be washed with a stream of water. This should be done not over the sink, but with a bucket, so as not to clog the drain. You can twist the shower head and use a flexible hose to rinse it.You also need to clean the grille and the pipe onto which the siphon is clamped.
Then everything is put back together, always with O-rings.
The nuts are tightened and wiped dry.
Then you need to fill the bath with some water and open the plug to check the tightness of the unscrewed fasteners.
After such cleaning it will drain unhindered.
