How to quickly groove a wall with a drill without a wall chaser in aerated concrete

To conceal electrical wiring in the wall, you need to make a groove. In the absence of a wall chaser and a vacuum cleaner, this task is accompanied by a huge emission of dust, especially if you use an angle grinder. Using this trick, you can make a groove and install socket boxes quickly, efficiently and with minimal dirt formation.

What you will need:

  • drill;
  • concrete crown 68 mm or more;
  • wood cutter 8 mm;
  • wooden slats;
  • self-tapping screws

Slitting process

Before gating, you need to make mounting holes for the socket boxes.

To do this, you need to draw a horizontal line at the installation height. Then the centers of the socket box block are marked on it. Holes are drilled through them, the rest of the aerated concrete is broken out of the wall with a screwdriver.

From the mounting holes for the socket boxes, a vertical line is drawn along the wall to the ceiling. This is done by level. Along this line, a strip is screwed to the wall using a pair of self-tapping screws.

Then, resting against it, you need to select a groove with an 8 mm cutter clamped into the drill chuck. After scoring, the rail is removed.

The resulting groove allows you to lay a 2.5 sq. VVG cable. mm for 2 or 3 cores. It will fit tightly, you don’t even have to secure anything with a dowel in a herringbone pattern for wiring.
