Charger-generator from trimmer engine

This portable mini power station, built on the basis of a motor from a trimmer and a car generator, can be used as a portable charger for any equipment where there is no electricity supply. The generator can also operate autonomously and provide energy to any consumers and loads with a voltage of 12 V.

How a charger-generator is made from a trimmer engine

So, the engine from the brush cutter is located outside, it is, as it were, built into the metal body at the front. Inside of which there is a collector-type automobile generator.

The shaft from the engine is additionally secured to the bearing housing and from there it goes to a pulley, and then along a belt drive to the generator itself.

The design is not clever. To be able to start the generator without a battery, a battery is built in, which is briefly connected to the collector with a button so that an initial EMF excitation occurs.

Also, to increase the output voltage, a diode is added to the feedback circuit.

The front panel has dial indicators showing the load current and output voltage.

The four-stroke engine is quite economical and produces less noise.Therefore, if you want to repeat the design, then preference should be given to it rather than two-stroke models.
