How to open a locked door without a key

Locks on interior doors have the ability to slam shut. Let's imagine that someone turned the latch and slammed the door. And the key, accordingly, remained in the room. How can I open this door without a key now? There is also a moment when the lock mechanism suddenly breaks down: the handle turns, but the door does not open.
Now you will see an incredibly simple way to open an interior door in a matter of seconds.

Will need

  • A plastic bottle of any size or an aluminum drink can.
  • Scissors.

Open a locked interior door without a key in 5 seconds

For example, we cut a plastic bottle with ordinary scissors, first removing the label. You need an even rectangle from its middle. For strength, fold it in half. Iron the bend thoroughly.

Now we move on to opening the lock. We push this leaf from the bottle through the gap between the door and the jamb. So that he comes out the other side.

Principle of operation

The principle of this opening is very simple. The fact is that the lock latch is spring-loaded. With a little effort, it goes back in perfectly even if the lock itself is locked.

We use a sheet from the bottle to rest against the bevel of the latch and with the proper force, the sheet goes under the latch along the bevel and it is retracted inside.

What if the door opens not in the American way, but in the normal way - during the evacuation?? Miracle ...

“Oops, and the horses stood at my feet”))...and what if the door is closed by a carpenter, so to speak, and nothing special can be pushed between the canvas and the frame, what then? And if, God forbid, the canvas has an overlap, you can completely forget about these dances with a tambourine. For such locks, such as Apex, there is a more universal tool - a thin flat-head screwdriver or a knife. And they come with an opener, like a key, just for such a case.

The author apparently never opened doors like this himself, and all the knowledge was gleaned from American films!
This doesn’t work on Soviet locks, it’s been tested on latches more than once, in a communal apartment you’ll often slam it automatically while you’re running to the toilet, and then you’ll think about how to open it or sit under the door and wait for your parents from work ;)
Moreover, in the lock that is shown in the video, there is a small additional tongue, which, in theory, should make such an opening impossible, however, in cheap Chinese versions it often does not work ;)
