How to quickly and easily pull a cable through a PVC pipe or corrugation
For example, you need to lay a power cable underground from the house to the bathhouse or garage. It wouldn't be right to just bury it like that. To protect it, you need to use a special PVC pipe for such purposes. But how to pass a cable through it if the pipe length is about 25 meters? There is a trick that we will talk about now.
Will need
- Strong and long rope (thread) from any material.
- A piece of cloth, a rag.
- Vacuum cleaner.
We quickly thread the cord into a 25 meter pipe
So, take a piece of fabric and rope. We tie one to the other, just like you do a toy for a cat, so that the rag is not completely compressed, but is calmly fluffed up. In general, we tie it to the middle.
Then, connect a vacuum cleaner to one edge of the pipe. If the pipe is too thin, make an adapter from available materials.
Now we turn on the vacuum cleaner, and at the other end we bring a rag tied to a thread.
Naturally she is drawn into the tube. Next, we unravel the thread so that it follows the rag into the pipe. And we do this until the rag passes through the entire pipe and reaches the vacuum cleaner.
Now to thread the cable, we tie its end to this thread and pull it through the PVC pipe. I think the idea itself is quite clear to you.
This method can also be used to pass cables through thin corrugations in home electrical installations.
