Homemade hoe for convenient weeding
Every summer resident knows that the hardest and most thankless work in the garden is weeding. A light rain is enough, and the weeds begin to emerge faster than the harvest. And how good the beds look when they are well-groomed! To simplify this work, we propose to make such a simple device, instead of a regular hoe, which will greatly facilitate weeding the garden.
Sometimes, in order to simplify manual labor, there is no need to invent space technologies. It is enough to assemble a few parts, adjust them to your height and hand, and you will get an excellent tool for a summer resident. So this time we will literally make things from scrap metal. But in the end, you'll be surprised how useful they can be. Let's get started quickly!
From a regular plate 3-4 cm wide we will prepare a working knife for the device.
We cut the workpiece 20-25 cm long and sharpen it at one end.
This can be done using sandpaper or a grinder with a sanding disc.
We clean the metal from rust, since it will need to be scalded by welding. Surely every household has scraps of metal rods. We will need them today.
We saw off two sections of 40 cm each and bend them in a zigzag towards the center.
We weld them to the knife at an angle so that the knife has a slight slope in the horizontal projection.
Our device is still for manual labor, so we make the handle for it from an ordinary pipe. We combine the curved rods together with the pipe and weld the joint using electric welding.
A transverse handle can be welded to the end of the handle.
Now let's try weeding. We place the flat cutter on the ground with the weeds and pull it towards us.
Thanks to the sharp knife, weeds are perfectly cut at the root. This is how you can easily and simply make an excellent lightweight and functional replacement for a bulky hoe, a traditional tool for weeding a garden. Have a nice day everyone and have a good harvest!
