An easy way to make a patch

The patch is a product of various shapes, has a fabric base on which a design is applied. Bright and colorful stripes on clothes attract attention and are therefore in high demand. Often in a store it is impossible to find the patch you are interested in, for example it is too small or large, and if you order in a store, you will have to wait a long time, and it is not a fact that it will fit. To avoid getting into such a situation, you can make a patch yourself.

To create a patch we will need:
  • - a small piece of denim;
  • - pen or felt-tip pen;
  • - brush;
  • - acrylic paints (red, green, black) or fabric paints;
  • - sewing needle;
  • - floss threads (red, black, green);
  • - Moment glue;
  • - scissors.

Let's start creating the patch.
Step 1: Draw the outline of a rose on the denim as shown below.

Step 2. Paint the rose bud with red paint, and the stem and leaves with green paint. This is necessary so that when we embroider, the denim does not show through the threads.Do not dilute the paint too much with water, otherwise it will spread and leave unsightly stains.

Step 3. We outline our rose with black paint. We leave our workpiece to dry.

Step 4. Using satin stitch we embroider the bud. Try to match the floss threads to the color of the acrylic paint. Don't be afraid if the stitches are uneven and there is space between them.

Step 5. Using satin stitch we embroider the stem of the rose, and then the leaves. The direction of the stitches can be any, for example “herringbone”, whatever is more convenient for you. I chose a simpler and faster embroidery method.

Step 6. Using black thread we embroider the outline of the rose. You can use a sewing machine, selecting a zigzag stitch and the shortest stitch length.

Step 7. Let's continue working on the rose bud. Let's select the petals. Using black thread we sew arcs, stripes, lines, but try to make it look like rose petals. If desired, you can also make leaves. You can also use a sewing machine, this method will be faster.

Step 8. Cut out, leaving 5 mm along the edges.

Step 9. Apply glue to the edges and fold them over to the reverse side so that the patch is more neat and the edges do not unravel. (Photo 12)
This is such a bright patch we got!

    Stripes are cool, but stores offer basically the same assortment, and this way you can make your own original one, not like everyone else.
