Table decoration made of paper flowers

paper flower decoration

Easter takes first place among Christian holidays in the life of a believer. Flowers are a wonderful symbol of Easter. Therefore, the best decoration for the table is an ekibana made of paper flowers, which is made by hand. To do this we need the following:
  • Regular foil
  • Corrugated paper in different colors.
  • Glue "Titan".
  • Toothpicks.
  • Styrofoam.
  • Satin white and gold ribbons.
  • Cardboard.
  • Beads of gold or silver color.

Base
So, let's start by cutting out a square of polystyrene foam measuring 5x5 cm. Now we cut out a square of 6x6 cm from cardboard, which we paste around the edges on all sides with thin gold tape. Using glue, glue the cardboard to the foam base. And we cover the foam itself on four sides with decorative white tape. In this way the basis for ekibana is ready.

Flowers and buds
The beauty of handmade work is that you can easily choose exactly the colors that predominate in the room. Therefore, it is worth deciding in advance which corrugated paper color you should buy. You will definitely need green paper for leaves and trunks.I selected four colors for my range - white, brown, yellow and red.
In order to cut out petals from paper, we will first make two main petal templates, using which later we will be able to make all the flowers. These are two types of petals of different sizes: 5x3.5 cm and 2.5x4 cm. Next, cut the paper into strips according to the size of the templates.

But first you need to make a base to give the colors volume. To do this, wrap a small piece of cotton wool onto a toothpick coated with glue at the end, and put a square of foil on top. At the bottom, we compress the foil to the level of a toothpick, secure it, and now you can start gluing the petals to this base.

4th row - take four small petals. All the same.
Row 5 - move on to the large template. Glue two petals opposite each other.
Row 6 - take three petals.
Row 7 - four.
Row 8 - we begin to glue the beautiful twisted leaves step by step on each other in a circle. About 4 pieces in this row. We first prepare the leaves, twist it on both sides with a toothpick, turn it over and stretch it in the middle on the other side at the bottom where it is attached to the base.

We make buds the same way as flowers, the only thing is that we finish them on the 6th - 7th row. Glue green leaves to the bottom of the bud. Wrap the stem in green paper.

In total, about 13 flowers and 2 - 4 buds will be needed to decorate the table.

You can use gold ribbon to make these decorations on a toothpick.

Now that all the flowers are made, it's time to beautifully set them in a square of foam. Distribute decorations from gold ribbons, and you can also decorate flower leaves with silver beads.
The final touch is to make a bow from a white ribbon with long stripes, onto which we paste Easter stickers. They can be purchased at a craft store. We also glue the bow to a long wooden stick and stick it into the foam. Ekibana is ready for the holiday.

It is probably impossible to imagine beauty and fragrance without delicate flowers, the sprouts of which sometimes have incredible power to break through even through asphalt, which symbolizes the power of nature.
