Glue the edge on the chipboard

Corpus furniture Many of us collect them ourselves. And the point here is not only that it is quite profitable, but at the same time quite simple, but also in the uniqueness of the result obtained. After all, we are not always able to go and buy exactly what you absolutely need. And most importantly, the craftsman who assembles this furniture is often simply interested in the result.
But along with cutting out the chipboard sheets themselves from which the furniture will be assembled (it doesn’t matter whether it’s a small stool, a small first aid kit, or an entire kitchen set and a spacious wardrobe), we also order the ABS edge covering there. However, often during the assembly process it is discovered that we did not indicate some aspects of these same parts in the order, or the master who carried out the pasting “missed” it. And then we are forced to wrap up what we started and go to the workshop again. And this is always an unnecessary waste of time.
I did this until one fine moment I saw my friend, a part-time cabinet furniture assembler with many years of experience, gluing the paper edge with an ordinary iron, without leaving the assembly workbench. And at my request he shared his experience, very quickly, in practice, he taught me. Which, in fact, is what I want to share with you.
So the edge that will be glued directly onto the chipboard parts. It comes in different widths, but when purchasing accessories, they will definitely tell you. Moreover, you can choose it both by color and texture, and it will look like a single whole. Or, on the contrary, you can make an absolute contrast and highlight the ends of the parts against the general background. So the choice is yours.

In addition, you will need an iron, preferably a heavy one. Although there are no special requirements here and cannot be, since by gluing the paper edge we will not spoil or damage it in any way.

Carpenter's knife. In principle, absolutely any kind, but definitely not very spicy. Otherwise, there is a high probability of cutting the laminated layer on the chipboard itself.

But the following details will have to be done. Of course, if such gluing of the edge is not isolated in nature. So, the guide. The width between the jaws is 18 mm, since the standard sheet is exactly 16 mm thick.

That's it, let's get started.
Heat the iron high. As we iron the linen, we warm the edge, and then rub it vigorously with a bar and cloth. It stuck, but its size is larger,

We do the same with the rest.
Moreover, peeling off this paper edge is as easy as shelling pears: heat it up again with the iron and remove the damaged or simply unnecessary paper edge for some reason.
