Felt bracelet with bead pattern
Felt is an excellent material for needlework. It is soft, dense, does not fray, does not tear and looks beautiful. Felt makes interesting and original decorations. For example, a nautical-style bracelet that is perfect as an accessory to beach or light summer clothes.
To make a bracelet, we will take blue and blue felt, multi-colored beads and white large beads.
Measure the circumference of the wrist and draw a bracelet template on paper - a sinuous sea wave shape.
Then, using this template, we cut out two parts from felt - a larger one from blue felt, and a smaller one from blue felt. I took thick blue felt - it’s perfect for the base, and my top layer is made of thin blue felt. We are not sewing the details yet. We collect white beads on the fishing line. Then we insert the end of the fishing line, if it is long enough, or a new fishing line into a thin needle and sew a row of white beads along the edge of the top blue layer, sewing together the two felt parts of the bracelet.
The blue felt is thick enough, the needle catches, but does not go through, so there are no seams on the inside.If the bottom felt is thin, then at the end you can sew another blue piece to the base of the bracelet with a decorative seam to hide the seams. Now we collect beads of various colors onto the fishing line. These are mainly blue, light blue and white beads - in a nautical theme. I diluted these colors with red, yellow, black and transparent beads.
Sewing each bead is very difficult and time-consuming. Therefore, I simply collected beads on one fishing line and secured them with another fishing line inserted into a thin needle.
The pattern was born in the process of work. Sew white beads at a distance. 5-7 pieces are enough for a bracelet.
When the bracelet is ready, move on to the clasp. It can be done in several ways. For me, it’s convenient to simply sew on a button: quickly, neatly, and easily fasten without anyone’s help. Felt does not tear, so there will be problems with the buttonhole too.
For example, a tie made of a wide blue ribbon looks beautiful, but in this case you will constantly have to ask someone to tie the bow. We made a clasp. Now the bracelet is completely ready.
