Flip flops from an old handbag

All lovely ladies have handbags that are out of fashion, torn, frayed or simply no longer liked. I suggest giving a second life to your handbag. Everyone has long known that no matter how many household flip-flops you keep at home, as soon as a holiday comes and a lot of guests come, there is absolutely no need for a flip-flop! Let's make beautiful, fashionable slippers from old handbags.

And we begin to work on it! To begin, take any of your shoes and make patterns on a piece of paper. Simply trace the sole of the shoe on a piece of paper with a pencil and cut out the pattern. I slightly enlarged the pattern because it shrinks as you sew. Measure the top with a centimeter in three places of rise and draw a blank for the top.

You will have a footprint and a semi-oval top. Then we take a felt-tip pen of any color, but so that the trace of the drawing on your handbag is visible. I took the white one. My bag is large, so I drew the soles on the sides of the bag; by the way, the leather is the thickest there.

But to make your foot soft and warm, you need to make two more layers of the same marks. It is better to put something soft on the skin, holofiber, synthetic polyester, fur, the choice is yours.

After all the patterns have been cut out, you need to overlay the fabric pattern so that the fabric frays, or overcast it by hand.

If you don’t have a machine, you can grab it with your hands in several places. Well, we have the bottom ready. Making the top. We also cut out the top according to the pattern. The top of my bag is trimmed with rhinestones, and I placed the patterns so as not to damage the rhinestones.

Then we carefully hand-baste the pattern with rhinestones in two places to the one made from fur and material. That's it, the preparations are ready. We take a gypsy needle and thick sewing thread to manually sew on the top and bottom. So that the seams are so clearly visible, but at the same time we’ll add a bright detail to our slippers, take any bright knitting threads and make them in several layers. I took bright green ones and folded them in three layers. When sewing on the top and bottom of the slap with sewing thread, I passed a triple strip of green knitting thread between them.

The benefits of sewing such flip flops are obvious. Firstly, you can never have too many flip flops! Every family has old handbags, as well as fur and fabric items. So you don't have to spend money. Secondly, these will be exclusive flip-flops, only for you! The leather on handbags is usually soft and light, which means the flip-flops will be very comfortable to wear.

These flip flops can be sewn literally in one day. My friends urgently decided that we should use the old handbags lying around on the mezzanines. Yes, and thirdly, the rhinestones give the flip-flops a slightly oriental look. They twinkle beautifully in the evening light. So, a beautiful peignoir, shimmering slippers and off you go!
