Creating an elastic band “Star”
Before you start creating this decoration you should prepare for work:
Material:
- satin wide bright red ribbon.
- rubber.
- medium-sized beads in pink color.
- decorative sequins in the shape of small stars.
Tool:
- scissors.
- tweezers.
- lighter.
- a gun for working with hot glue.
- threads and needles for handicrafts.
Sequence of work.
1 Making petals.
For the petals you will need 10 pieces measuring 5x5 cm. Since the width of the prepared tape is already 5 cm, all you have to do is cut the required length. Then from each square you need to get a triangle by folding it in half. And then fold the part in the middle again.
Holding the resulting triangle with tweezers, you need to thread the sewing thread through the needle and make a small stitch along the edge of the longest side of the part. The needle should pierce all the folds and connect them together. The cuts should be 3 mm apart. Once you have made the stitch, you do not need to cut the thread.
After this, you need to pull the thread of the seam so that the material gathers into uniform folds. Once you've done this, you can sew two locking stitches and trim the thread.
Next, you need to burn the sections of the resulting part with a flame to protect the part from shedding the fabric.
This is what your petal should look like. You need to make the same copies from the remaining squares.
2 Flower connection.
The flower consists of two rows, each of which is created separately. You need to make a small circle out of five petals, smearing glue on the parts along their side.
With this action you have completed the first row. Next, the remaining parts need to be glued to the bottom of this circle. But you should place the petals in the spaces between the parts of the first row.
Next you need to glue the beads in the center of the flower to hide the place where the petals are glued.
Next you need to carefully glue three decorative stars along the edge of each petal. This must be done carefully so that the glue does not get on other parts of the petals, ruining their beauty.
Now you need to turn the flower over and attach an elastic band to its center.
The flower is completely ready, congratulations!
