Soft cozy blanket

On cold autumn and winter evenings it is always nice to wrap yourself in a warm blanket with a cup of aromatic tea in your hands. Today I will tell you how to make a beautiful, warming knitted blanket with fabric elements yourself.

To make it you will need:
- Any fabric. It is advisable that you use two types of fabric with different patterns that will be combined together.
- Durable cotton thread for tying motifs.
- Sewing thread and needle.
- Sharp scissors.
- Crochet hook.
- Gypsy needle or needle with a large eye.

you will need

First we need to make a lot of square fabric blanks. They are easy to do. We cut out two squares, fold them right sides together and sew them on a machine or sew them together with a needle and thread by hand.

At the end, we leave a small unstitched area, turn the square inside out and carefully sew up the hole from the front side. It turns out to be a square like this. We make a lot of these from both types of fabric.

Now let's start tying the fabric element. We take a gypsy needle and thread a cotton thread into it for tying. We sew the edges of the square so that we get loops, for which we will then tie a thread and make a beautiful binding.

Sew the edges of the square

Having swept around the entire square, without tearing off the thread, we begin tying. When the needle runs out of thread, simply apply another thread and continue knitting. We knit the first row with single crochets.

Having swept the entire square

We knit two single crochets into two corner loops so that the corners widen and do not tighten the square.

We make the next row openwork. We knit it with double crochets. We knit one double crochet, skip one loop and knit two double crochets in a row. I alternate the columns in this way and get an openwork binding. We knit two double crochets into the corner loops.

We tie several prepared motifs in the same way. Connecting the elements with each other into a single canvas, we alternate the patterns in a checkerboard pattern. We tie the squares at the corners and once in the middle of the element.

By connecting squares you can make a blanket of any size. When you reach a size large enough for you, use the same cotton binding thread to tie the edges of the blanket to create a nice frame. You can also choose a yarn that is different in color for the binding thread for the frame. It is important that it matches the blanket.

beautiful blanket

Your baby will love such a beautiful blanket and will give you comfort and a pleasant mood on a cold evening.
