How to make super glue at home from available ingredients

You can make high-quality glue at home quickly and easily, and in large quantities. To do this, you will not need to look for expensive and rare ingredients. And it will glue no worse than industrial glue.

Ingredients

To make it you will need a minimum of components, and they are not just cheap, but very cheap:

  • water;
  • acetic acid 70%;
  • food gelatin;
  • glycerol.

All this can be easily found for free sale in stores. These components cost mere pennies.

Making a super lei with your own hands

Let's get started. To demonstrate this recipe, let's make a small amount of glue. If you need a larger volume, the proportions can be easily recalculated. Pour three teaspoons of water into a container and bring to a boil.

Add one teaspoon of gelatin to boiled water and mix.

Drop half a spoon of glycerin into the dissolved gelatin, and immediately 1 teaspoon of vinegar essence.

This entire set of ingredients should be thoroughly mixed until a transparent composition is obtained. If gelatin does not dissolve well, you can heat the container again.

The adhesive composition is ready and it’s time to move on to testing it. Let's glue several different materials and evaluate the durability of the glue:

1.Tree with tree.

Apply glue to one side of the wooden plank, firmly press the other side to it using a clamp and leave for half an hour. Or better yet, an hour.

2. Plastic with plastic. We perform the same manipulations as with wooden planks.

3. Sandpaper on a fabric base to the metal. We apply glue to the plate, apply paper and leave it under the load.

An hour has passed, let's try to disconnect it all. Let's start again with the tree. It stuck quite firmly. Force had to be applied to break the adhesive connection. In the end, of course, they broke, but in some places the wooden beam itself split, and not the place where it was glued.

Let's try plastic. Considerable efforts are also made to separate the plates. It seemed as if the plastic itself would break. But we still won. Broke.

The sandpaper stuck securely to the steel plate. When I tried to tear it off, the base fabric tore.

Considering the meager cost of the glue components, the result is impressive. Let's try to compare it with a store-bought tube. Let's glue the plastic with proprietary Second Glue and see if it's as good as ours. Glue the two halves of plastic together and leave it for a few minutes (why wait a long time if the glue only lasts for a second). We are trying to disconnect. Well, perhaps it's a little stronger. But we can make at least a few liters of glue for pennies! And there are only 3 grams of Super Glue in a tube.

And if the glue in the container has frozen and become hard, just heat it up again in a water bath. And he's ready to go again.

To summarize, I would like to say that the result was pleasing. The recipe works, the glue is strong.
