The fastest way to reliably insulate a ceiling

Sprayed insulation provides a seamless thermal insulation layer with absolutely no cold bridges. This makes it superior to polystyrene foam, mineral wool or polystyrene foam. In addition, its application is less physically difficult and can be done with your own hands without assistants. Let's look at the main nuances of working with sprayed insulation using the example of ceiling insulation.

Sprayed insulation in Polinor or other cylinders;
spray foam gun;
spray.

The process of applying sprayed insulation

Before starting work, the surface must be dust free. You can go over it with a brush or broom, but it is best to blow everything out with a compressor. Then, in order for the insulation to expand well and have sufficient adhesion, the base porous surface must be sprayed with a spray bottle. Before starting work, it should already absorb water, since drops and smudges will reduce adhesion. When insulating glass or metal, there is no need to moisten the surface.

Shake the insulation in the container for 1-3 minutes according to the instructions.The temperature in the room where work is carried out must be at least +5 degrees Celsius. The temperature of the cylinders themselves should be within 18-25 degrees Celsius. If they are cold, they can be kept in a bucket of warm water.

The cylinder is installed in the gun, just like regular polyurethane foam. If the base has deep unevenness, they must be filled with insulation. To do this, a direct application tip is installed on the gun. After this, all the depressions are filled.

After preliminary leveling of the base, a spray nozzle is installed on the gun.

After this, the insulation is applied in a thin layer in strips. It increases in volume very quickly, creating a continuous porous casing.

All unfilled cavities can be additionally foamed pointwise. 10 minutes after the first layer, a second one is applied to bring the insulation thickness to an acceptable level.
