How to cover a textured surface with camouflage fabric using the example of a holster

Camouflage fabric not only makes the surface less noticeable, but also provides a more pleasant tactile sensation when in contact with it. Therefore, holsters and various hunting or paintball equipment are covered with fabric. Let's look at how to do this at home.

Materials:

  • Camouflage fabric;
  • alcohol;
  • 3M spray adhesive or equivalent;
  • Super glue.

Fabric wrapping process

The surface to be camouflaged should be cleaned and degreased with alcohol. A piece of fabric of a suitable size is cut out under it, taking into account all the folds.

Aerosol glue is applied to the surface and back of the fabric.

After this, the camouflage is applied on top. You need to start smoothing it out from the center. If there are uneven surfaces, you will need to press the fabric against them with a plastic or wooden stick. It will stretch and stick in the recesses due to the glue.

You need to act quickly, as the glue sets. After smoothing, excess fabric protruding from the product is cut off.

Then along the edges you need to saturate the part and the fabric with superglue so that it does not come off.

If the fabric covers the holes, then it is better not to cut them, but to burn them with a soldering iron or a hot awl. This way it won't become frayed.

Thus, using good glue, you can cover even a textured surface such as a holster with camouflage fabric. This modification looks better than using self-adhesive camouflage tape, since it has a single, non-tearing pattern.
