How to make a lava lamp at home

If you have children and you want to please them with a common fun pastime, then make a lava lamp together. This is a project that is guaranteed to succeed, and at the same time you will definitely like it. Almost everything needed to implement it can be found in your kitchen.

What you will need:

  • Glass jar;
  • sunflower oil;
  • vinegar;
  • green food coloring;
  • soda;
  • round LED flashlight.

Lava lamp making process

In a glass jar, pour baking soda into the bottom in a layer of 0.5-1 cm, and pour sunflower oil on top.

The jar should not be topped up 2-3 cm.

Mix vinegar and food coloring in a separate container.

The jar is placed on a round lantern that is turned on, and colored vinegar is poured into it.

Vinegar is heavier than oil, so it will fall to the bottom of the jar, forming globules.

When it touches soda, a chemical reaction occurs, releasing carbon dioxide. As a result, the contents of the jar will bubble beautifully. The experiment looks especially bright in the dark.

    vinegar and soda then need to be recharged. You can leave the old oil... but this is a big hassle. and you won’t want to make a lamp.
