Budget collapsible table for fishing with your own hands
When going fishing light, you have to make do with minimal equipment. When fishing for a long time, it can be very inconvenient to constantly bend down to the ground to take bait, groundbait or other equipment. I suggest how you can quickly make a light table from cheap materials, weighing only 1.5 kg and with a load capacity of 10 kg.
Materials used
To make the table I used:
- polypropylene water pipe – 2 m;
- aluminum tube d 8 mm – 2 m;
- pipe clips – 22 pcs.;
- food container with lid capacity 1 l;
- lid for a plastic box 510x380 mm;
- furniture mounting angles – 4 pcs.;
- pipe plugs – 4 pcs.;
- a package of M4 screws with nuts and washers;
- M5 dowels with self-tapping screws – 8 pcs.
Making a collapsible table
A plastic lid for the container will be used as a tabletop. To make the legs, you need to cut the polypropylene water pipe into 4 pieces of 50 cm each.
First you need to make fastenings for the legs of the table. To do this, you need to attach clips of water pipes to furniture mounting angles.They already have holes, so you just need to tighten everything with a screw, nut and washers. The resulting fastening is placed at the corners of the cover, and marks are made for the holes. They are burned through with a hot awl. After this, the supports are fixed to the tabletop.
Once the fastenings are ready, the legs can be put back in place.
Next you need to install spacers to add stability. To do this, you need to cut the aluminum pipe into pieces of suitable length. It is best if the spacers are a little larger, then the legs will become more stable.
You need to drive dowels into the ends of the tubes. Then the clips are screwed to them using wood screws.
The table is almost ready. It remains to improve the design a little. You need to press plugs into the ends of the legs to protect them from dirt.
To be able to fold the removed legs under the tabletop, you need to attach 4 clips along the narrow edge to it. Holes are drilled in the lid for fastening the clips with screws.
Now you can place transverse aluminum spacers diagonally under the tabletop, and clamp the legs themselves in clips.
For convenience, I also attached 2 clips to a small food container. They have different directions of antennae. The vertical clip makes it possible to fix the tray when carrying it by hooking it onto the leg. The horizontal one will allow you to hook the container to the unfolded table in order to conveniently get the bait.
