How to make a power regulator for household appliances

Anyone can assemble such a simple regulator. Knowledge of electronics will not be required, since a ready-made Chinese module will be used, which can be purchased for a very small amount. With all this, the regulator is capable of regulating the power of devices up to 2000 W.

The regulator can be used to regulate the power of any electric heating devices, various engines, power tools, etc.

Will need

Making a power regulator

We disassemble the junction box by removing the top cover.

We take the socket and disassemble it in the same way.

We unscrew the side fastenings so that they do not dangle. They won't be useful anymore.

At this point, you don’t need to do anything else with the outlet.

We drill a hole in the cover of the distribution box for the socket.

We install the socket in this socket and secure it with self-tapping screws.

Using a step drill, we make a hole in the side of the box for the wire bushing.

We insert the bushing and secure it with plastic nuts on both sides that come with the bushing.

We pass the wire through it.

Now it's time to connect the module. It's not difficult, here's the diagram:

We connect the stripped wires of the network cable to the screw terminals. And also screw a piece of wire to connect to the outlet.

We connect the wires to the contacts of the socket.

Using a stepped drill, we drill a hole on the other side of the box for the variable resistor of the module board. It will also hold the entire board in the case.

We insert the variable resistor into the hole and secure it with a nut.

We put the handle on the shaft.

Close the lid of the box and assemble the socket.

We screw the sleeve, thereby fixing the wire.

We tighten the four screws of the box. At this point the regulator is ready.

Checking the operation of the regulator

We turn on the network, connect the light bulb. Everything is adjusted very smoothly, without any jumps or steps.

We are trying to connect the grinder.

I think it won’t be difficult to figure out how and where to use this: electric stoves, water heater heating elements, pump motors, etc. The thing is useful and necessary in everyday life.

Friends, follow all safety requirements. The tension that is present inside is life-threatening.

Suitable for resistive loads. For engines - no.

      Why?

Do you think grinders with a regulator have other dimmers? Exactly the same.

due to the fact that the output current shape is not a sinusoid

So the grinder has a commutator motor, it doesn’t care about the sine wave!

This is bullshit for nichrome light bulbs

It would be nice to know the characteristics of this device. Judging by its appearance, it is only suitable for low-power devices. Like turning the light down and up in a light bulb.

The power of the regulator depends only on the used triac and radiator in case of heavy load.

What is a wire bushing? I know the seal, pressure seal. And it works like a dissertation. The pump will not work, it will burn out, this is not a frequency converter

You can install a regulator board from a vacuum cleaner, just for the engines.
