Automatic LED lighting with motion sensor

I'll show you how to make universal LED lighting for anything, be it lighting a work area or lighting a niche in a bed. The LED strip will light up automatically when an object approaches and also automatically turn off after a specified period of time.

Needed to make automatic backlight

LED strip, my skein. I took the warm glow.

Automatic LED lighting with motion sensor

The sensor itself. When purchasing, look at the supply voltage. Mine is powered by 12 V. You can take the most common one at 5 V, but then you will have to make a stabilizer for it. The stabilizer is located directly on the sensor board.

The connection connector has three outputs: plus, minus and logical signal output. Well, you can guess here: red is plus, black is minus, and brown is signal output.

Automation scheme

The scheme for coordinating and controlling the lighting of an LED strip using a motion sensor is presented below.

The NE555 chip contains a delay timer. As soon as a short signal is received from the motion sensor, the timer will start and turn on the LED strip using a transistor switch. Well, when the time runs out, it will turn it off. It's simple.

We assemble the circuit and test it on a temporary breadboard.

Next we collect it permanently.

The bottom of the printed circuit board is simply soldered with solder tracks. I like assembling electronic devices on such boards, it's very simple. You can buy them - HERE.

Once again we test the newly assembled automatic backlight board.

Without movement, the tape turns off.

And as soon as you move or appear, it immediately lights up.

Using automatic backlight

Where and where to apply all this is up to you to decide. Personally, I made such lighting in the kitchen, and now when I go to the sink to wash dishes, the light automatically lights up.

I also illuminated the bottom of the bed. Here's how I secured everything.

The entire system is powered by a 12 V pulse adapter.

Now, as soon as you stand on the floor in the dark at night, the backlight immediately lights up and does not blind your eyes.

Does it also turn on during the day?

Automatic bed lighting is of course convenient, but until the pets appear))
